COVID-19/Corona Virus

Please read our statement about Covid-19/Corona Virus below, or download it here.

Harbor Eyecare Center is following the developments of COVID-19/Corona Virus in our area carefully.

Please be assured we always follow universal precautions. As this virus is into a pandemic status and is very contagious we have discussed the cleaning steps throughout the office regularly and repeatedly with our team. This includes cleaning surfaces patients or the doctor would touch during an exam between every patient every time. The added steps we are taking include asking everyone who enters our facility to use Pure & Clean hand prep on entry. This is a hypochlorous acid-based cleaner with kill rates on contact beyond hand sanitizers or soaps. Patients trying on frames will set them aside for us to clean before placing them back out for anyone else to touch or try on. Reception and optical staff will wipe down desks and surfaces every hour or so throughout the day. We have removed any children’s toys and books from the play area that we cannot adequately clean regularly. For the time being, we plan to stay open as we do not congregate large numbers of people and feel the risks to our team and patients are very low. If you have glasses or contact lenses ready to pick up please let us know if you wish for us to mail them home instead. Please cancel a visit if you do not feel well or have any reason to believe you were exposed. Likewise, we have asked our team members to please stay home if they do not feel well or have any reason to believe they were exposed. Our 24-hour cancelation policy will, of course, be waived in these instances. As a small local business, we appreciate your support and understanding in these trying times. We are committed to managing and monitoring the risk and will provide updates as they occur.
